Alicia María Siu is a muralist, painter, and artist whose work expresses the vitality, strength, and tenacity of Indigenous peoples and all who share a vision of a healthy Mother Earth. She was born in El Progreso Yoro, Honduras, and identifies as Nawat-Pipil/Maya on her mother’s side and Cantonese on her father’s side. Alicia began painting at age eight and later migrated with her family to California, where she continued her artistic and academic journey. She holds a B.A. in Studio Art and a Master’s in Native American Studies, with a thesis focused on the historical clarification of the 1932 Holocaust of Nahuat-Lenca-Maya in El Salvador. Her murals span communities across the U.S., Mexico, Panama, Cuba, and Honduras, and are grounded in decolonial practice, ancestral knowledge, and collective memory.
