Biografía del orador
Pastizal Zamudio (b. 1991, Mexicali) is an artist, researcher, and educator whose work explores the intersection of labor, ritual, and the emotional language of architecture within binational landscapes. Their practice is deeply rooted in the agricultural contexts of the U.S.–Mexico border, often utilizing site-specific installations, 35mm film, and short-form poetry to examine the relationship between spaces and their inhabitants. A graduate and former professor of Fine Arts at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC), Zamudio has spearheaded independent art spaces such as Escritorio de Procesos and Santuario. Their internationally recognized career includes contributions to the 2025 Sharjah Biennial and permanent installations for INSITE. Whether through "spectral choreography" or the creation of organic talismans, Zamudio’s work fosters collective care and spiritual restoration, inviting a deeper connection to the terrestrial environments we inhabit.
